The Apophysis Challenge is still going and its not to late to get started. Hosted by We are in our 11 week of challenges and we are still looking for more to participate. There are no prizes other then a few features however its a great way to get to know some of your fellow fractalists along with giving you something to do. We share our parameters and its a good way to brush up on your apo skills as well. Dont be shy feel free to jump right in all details can always be found on Flarks journal f--l--a--r--k.deviantart.com/.
These challenges are designed so they can be done by both new fractalists that want to learn more yet still provide a challenge for more experienced fractalists.
Going into the 11 week of challenges I have featured the past winners to date along with a few of my picks from each of their galleries.
Challenge 1 Rings2
Create a rings2 style fractal with a twist. Learn the base technique first, then give it your own personal style. I understand that the style does have it's limits, so let's push them as far as possible and see what happens. An easy to follow tutorial was linked for those that did not know what a rings2 fractal looked like.
Winner plus 2 of my picks from their gallery.
Challenge 2 3 variations
This week, we're going to work within the limitations of 3 separate variations. Linear // Spherical // Polar
Use them in as many transforms, as many combinations that you like, but only the three variations.
Winner plus 2 of my picks from their gallery.
Challenge 3 2 for 2
This week should definitely prove to be interesting. Your limitation is only 2 transforms. However, in these two transforms, you can only use two variations. These can be whatever variation you like, but only two maximum. Examples follow:
Tx 1: Linear & Spherical and Tx 2: Bipolar or
Tx 1: Bubble & Spherical and Tx 2: Bubble & Linear
Any combination you desire, but only two transforms, maximum of 2 variations each. For this challenge, I'd also like to ask for NO Final Transforms. This way everyone is limited fairly to only the two transforms.
Winner plus 2 of my picks from their gallery.

Challenge 4 Popping Bubbles
This week, I'm imposing a limit of 3 transforms total. This includes a final transform if you so wish to use one (thus limiting you to two regular transforms). Your goal this week is to create a wonderful fractal with these three transforms using the bubble variation in each transform. Feel free to use any combination of other variations, as long as bubble is present on each transform. I personally feel that this will be quite challenging to pull off, but I know everyone is capable!
Winner plus 2 of my picks from their gallery.
Challenge 5 Beginnings
This week features a "tutorial" challenge. I present to you "The Beginnings" tutorial by *Anystasia
Please do not be intimidated by it. Take your time, read through it...really get to know the style and it's intricacies if you're so inclined. THEN!!! Your challenge is to create something new within the realm of this style. As you work, you'll see that the style itself is somewhat limited, this will push you to get your creative juices flowing to make something with your own personal style. There are no limits on transforms or variations this week, only make certain you give us something different!
Winner plus 2 of my picks from their gallery.

Challenge 6 Uber-Tiles
This weeks challenge is to create a very detailed, intricate tiled fractal.
You have no transform limits, no variation limits. However, the catch is, you must use both swirl and spiral in at least one transform in the fractal.Kind of a tile with a literal twist if you will.
Winner plus 2 of my picks from their gallery.
Challenge 7 Polar Express
This week, our challenge is to create a winter-like fractal, using a maximum of 3 transforms (does not include post-transform, feel free to use if you deem it necessary). The challenge is that you must include the Polar variation in at least two of the three transforms (excluding final transform). Polar can be a bit tricky at times, so really play around and see what you can come up with.
Winner plus 2 of my picks from their gallery.
Challenge 8 Flipped Disk
We're going with a lighter challenge this week, one based on a tutorial by `JoelFaber
As always, the first part of your challenge is to devour this tutorial in it's entirety. Next, you must put your own artistic interpretation upon this. Make it your own.
Winner plus 2 of my picks from their gallery.
Challenge 9 Favorite Drink
Your challenge is to create a fractal representation of your favorite drink. Perhaps you're a coke drinker, or you prefer tea. Maybe a White Russian is order? Or perhaps good ol' coffee is all you desire. Anyway you like it, let's see what everyone comes up with.
Instead of a maximum amount of transforms, this week, you will have a minimum of 5 transforms (excluding Final TX). To add to the challenge, either the julia or julian variation must be used on at least one transform.
Winner plus 2 of my picks from their gallery.
Challenge 10 Grand Julian
You're challenge is to give a new kick to the "Grand Julian" Style.
Center must not contain just blur. Blur is a allowed, but explore other variations.Give attention to your framing and cropping of final image. Rather than showing the whole fractal, look to highlight interesting features.
In voting now current submissions.

Current Challenge Due by midnight Sunday.
Challenge 11
Maximum 2 Transforms.
Allowed Variations:
* Linear
* Spherical
* Lazy Susan
These are simply the allowed variations, use any combo, use only 1...that part is up to you. No final transforms.
The goal for this week's challenge is to make a "full" looking fractal (fill the whole image) with texture and color. We're looking to achieve some rich and colorful images.

First off I will add in A Huge thank you to all the people that still comment and favorite my work.
Also a reminder some time ago I had posted that I generally don't answer thanks for favs comments or llamas...unless there is a direct statement to me included. I also don't thank for favs and watches while I appreciate both I just simply don't have enough time to do it I tried for a long time and became very over stressed by it. I also hated feeling like I was basicall
